A conservative and a liberal were dining together one evening in a nice restaurant. The waiter came to the table to refill their coffee cups and, as he did, he accidentally spilled coffee on the table.

The liberal immediately called for Comprehensive Spilled Coffee Reform. He introduced legislation in the Congress that would create a Federal Spilled Coffee Commission to investigate the root causes of spilled coffee. He demanded that the Dept. of Education begin Spilled Coffee Awareness Programs in all public schools. He went on Meet The Press with Tim Russert to denounce the Bush administration and their inability to "connect the dots" to prevent such a catastrophe. Perhaps Pres. Bush had even acted criminally in the Great Spilled Coffee Caper! "What did he know, and when did he know it?", the liberal breathlessly asked.

What did the conservative do? He asked for a towel and he cleaned up the mess.
