america's christian heritage--george washington and the washington monument

It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God and to obey His will.----George Washington

FACTS:
1. Construction of the Washington Monument began in 1848. It was completed in 1884, after Congress appropriated $2 million to finish the work. That's $2 million of taxpayer money (are you paying attention, liberals?).
2. The cornerstone of the Washington Monument contains a Holy Bible, which was a gift from the Bible Society, as well as copies of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution.
3. Inside the monument is a memorial plaque from the Free Press Methodist-Episcopal Church.
4. Tribute blocks in the Monument have the following Christian references carved into them:
---Holiness to the Lord
---Search the Scriptures
---The memory of the just is blessed.
---May Heaven to this union continue its beneficence.
---In God We trust.
---Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

What do you suppose the reaction would be if Congressional Republicans introduced a resolution to appropriate $2 million to begin construction on a monument to Ronald Reagan; a monument containing a Bible and having Bible verses carved into it? I guess that the 21st Century liberal is just a whole lot smarter about the meaning of "separation of church and state" than our first president was.
