the wisdom of el rushbo--limbaugh's 35 undeniable truths

http://www.lectlaw.com/files/cur52.htm

When read with an open mind unscarred by the ravages of liberalism, Rush Limbaugh's 35 Undeniable Truths make a lot of sense. I'm going to make a prediction. If any of my liberal readers decide to comment on this, they will avoid any direct reference to the specific points made by Limbaugh. They will instead focus on personal attacks. I would like to ask for a favor. If you happen to disagree with a specific point made by Limbaugh, then refute it, using facts, logic and reason. I dare you!

Okay, I will take the bait Hondo…kind of.

Limbutt’s * articles are mostly unarguable because they are mostly either subjective or just ridiculous. Some are true, such as “War is not obsolete” (although I think we all wish it were). But that is no great revelation to anyone, so it doesn’t make Rush enlightened, just silly and trite. In the subjective category are statements like “Ronald Reagan was the greatest president of the twentieth century” or “…leadership decends from character [sic]” (there are many theories of leadership, not all of which supports this). In the ridiculous category are statements like “women should not be allowed on juries where the accused is a stud” and I would hope that you wouldn’t even try to defend that one Hondo (would you?). I guess one could argue that Rush is not serious about such statements and is just purposely being asinine in an attempt to humor himself, but the point is that one just can’t tell with that guy. For that reason, I just won’t engage in refuting any of his articles…not even the one about condoms only working in the school year. I just can’t work out how an educated guy like you could be on side with Rush Limbaugh.

*personal attack thrown in for good measure

Thank you for your comments, Hondo-Watch. I'll answer your last question first, as to why an educated person would listen to Rush. There are several reasons. The first is that I find that about 98% of everything Rush says is verifiably accurate. Most of the other 2% falls under the category of "opinion", which I sometimes agree with and sometimes don't. A very small portion of that 2% is just flat wrong, but that doesn't happen very often. An example of just being wrong was when he stated several weeks ago that he believed that having money could make a person more happy.
The second reason that I enjoy Rush is because he is so totally consumed with battling the evils of liberalism, and doing so in an entertaining way. Liberalism is in fact evil and dangerous because it leads people away from the truth (that's beyond debate; I prove that on this site on an almost daily basis)and Limbaugh is devoted to exposing liberalism for what it is.
I think that I should devote a post to these undeniable truths and show why they are true. Thanks for visiting!
