liberal lies and the lying liberals who tell those lies 101
The last couple of months have provided all truth-seeking Americans with an education. The drive-by media, by faithfully and brainlessly parroting the liberal talking points on a daily basis, have become an absolute textbook for anyone wishing to study the dishonesty and the hypocracy of modern liberalism. Let's hit some of the highlights.
1. The Valerie Plame Affair---For months, the drive-by media has told us that Valerie Plame was a covert CIA operative and that Bush administration illegally "outed" her in retaliation for her husband criticizing the President. The media presented all of this as accepted fact. Turns out, none of it was true. Plame was not a covert operative, therefore no laws were broken. Dick Armitage, a Colin Powell operative, was the man responsible for outing Plame. Has anyone on the left, including the liberal media, offered an apology for their lies? Of course not! Liberals don't apologize, they just manufacture another scandal.
2. The NIE Report--- This report said 3 things: It said that our presence in Iraq was drawing Islamofascists worldwide to that region to fight against us (that's a good thing; it means that they aren't attacking us here), it said that our continued success in Iraq would eventually weaken the Islamofascists and destroy their will to continue the fight (that's a good thing, too) and that, if we surrender, the Islamofascists would perceive that as weakness and become stronger. Within the confines of my wooden conservative head, that sounds like 3-for-3 to me. Go U.S.A.! The media reported this as, "America is causing terrorism. America is bad. America must surrender immediately." This is dishonesty of the worst kind! Thank God Bush released the whole, non-security related portion of the report.
3. The Mark Foley Affair--- Mark Foley is a sick, twisted individual who belongs in jail. He is hiding behind the "check-into-rehab/the-priest-molested-me/it's-not-my-fault" defense, and that absolutely makes me want to throw up. He preyed on kids, and the Bible is pretty clear about what happens to people who cause kids to sin! The hypocracy of the left on this issue is even more sickening. Go back over the last 20 years and look at all of the sex scandals involving Democrats. How about Mel Reynolds? Clinton pardoned him and Jesse Jackson put him on the Rainbow/PUSH payroll as a youth counselor! What about Barney Frank? His "roommate" ran a male prostitution ring out of their home, Frank knew about it, and the Democrats defended him. How about Gary Studds? He bragged about his involvement with a teenage page, never resigned, and was re-elected 6 more times before retiring. How about the "adulterer-in-chief" himself? Clinton's sickening affair with Monica Lewinski violated the federal sexual harrassment legislation that Clinton himself signed into law. He was not only defended, but he was celebrated by the left! None of these incidents drew so much as a peep from the Democrat leadership or their willing accomplices in the drive-by media. Foley, on the other hand, was forced by the GOP leadership to resign and Speaker Hastert has asked the Justice Department to investigate. None of that matters, though, to the liberal media. They want all Republicans to resign in shame! Kind of ironic, isn't it, since the media has no real concept of what shame is!
The final exam for this "class" on liberalism has only one question. "Is there any limit to the hypocracy and the dishonesty of the modern left, or their willing accomplices in the drive-by media?"
