pearl harbor remembered

December 7, 1941, at 7:55 AM Hawaii time, 360 Japanese warplanes wiped out the naval base at Pearl Harbor. 18 ships were destroyed. 180 American airplanes were destroyed on the ground and an additional 150 were damaged. 2400 Americans were killed. One day later, at the request of President Franklin Roosevelt, Congress declared war against Japan and America was officially at war.
The song Remember Pearl Harbor, written by Don Reid, contained this line:
"History--in every century--records an act that lives forever more."
You will find that song, along with a lot more information about Pearl Harbor, at the above link. How strangely prophetic that song was!
