more wisdom and truth from el rushbo

This is a fascinating bit of Limbaugh wisdom. He refers to the latest Battleground poll, which shows that over 60% of Americans consider themselves conservatives, while only a third of Americans consider themselves to be liberal. He talks about the desparate Democrat strategy to use the mainstream media to discourage GOP voter turnout in November. He references a couple of recent newspaper articles which are already providing the Democrat spin on why they will lose in November. Even the Democrats know that they have no shot at winning unless Republicans stay home.
Bukko asked a really asinine question in one of his comments about how I could even stand to vote Republican. I'll tell you exactly why. First, I looked at everything the GOP has done in the last 6 years that I don't like:
1. Out of control spending and expansion of the federal bureauacracy
2. No Child Left Behind
3. Failure to secure the borders
4. Failure to stop illegal immigration
5. Harriet Myers (was Bush drinking again at this particular moment?)
6. Way too many mistakes in the handling of Iraq, although I do believe that Bush did the right thing in attacking Iraq

Then I look at the things that the GOP did that I agreed with:
1. Strongly committed to the war on terror
2. The economic policies have absolutely saved us from a Depression.
3. Conservative judicial nominees
4. Vetoed embryonic stem cell research funded with tax dollars
5. Thwarted passage of the Fairness Doctrine
6. No terrorist attacks on American soil or against American targets on foreign soil since Bush became president.

Finally, I look at what the Dems will do if they take power:
1. Spend millions investigating Bush for bogus criminal charges
2. Possible impeachment
3. Cut and run
4. Raise taxes
5. Pass the Fairness Doctrine
6. Block appointment of conservative judges
7. Surrender in the war on terror
8. Surrender on the illegal immigration issue
9. Raise gas prices through increased taxes on oil companies
10. Prosecute innocent soldiers on bogus war crimes charges

Friends, it is an easy decision for me. I will vote Republican because they most closely represent the values that I find to be important.

So Hondo, you're in the same position as blacks are to the Democrats. It doesn't matter what the Repugs do, including having Karl Rove laugh at you and call you freaks. You'll vote for them anyway. Kinda like the abused wife who keeps coming back for more punishment. Well, you'll deserve what's going to happen to the U.S., mate. It's a shame the collapse will take down so many people who DON'T deserve it. And when it happens, you'll still blame the liberals. Have another draught of the Kool-aide...

No, Bukko, my position is nothing like America's black population and the Democrats. Every single domestic and economic position taken by the Democrat Party, without exception, is harmful to blacks, yet blacks continue to vote Democrat. Compare that to Christian conservatives and the GOP. Regardless of what the GOP leadership may or may not say behind closed doors, the GOP still advances the agenda of the Christian conservative most of the time. When they don't, Christian conservatives raise hell, and the GOP listens. We don't get everything we want, but we do get about 60% of what we want. The Democrats would give us 0% of what we want. Do the math Bukko, it ain't that deep.

Nice job Jason! You hold true to the liberal strategy of making fun of Limbaugh, but you don't refute anything he said. You also don't even attempt to refute the Battleground poll. Is that because you can't refute the facts? You liberals sure make me laugh!

What's to refute? So 2/3 of the country consider themselves "conservative" or "very conservative": those figures in the Battleground poll haven't changed in seven years--seven years--yet Bush never got 2/3 of the vote, did he? In fact, no person ever running for office ever recieved over 55% of the vote: why? Not all conservative folks subscribe to the republican definition of conservative. In fact, depending on the issue, I'm a conservative! Governemnt instrusion on private lives? No! Get lost, Uncle Sam! Government spending bringing in rcord deficits? No! Spend only what you have! In fact, democrats were a lot more republican than republicans were during the Clinton years! Fiscal responsibility, low intrusion from Nanny Government, a booming economy...

When I look at the things you don't like, I wonder, then why would he still vote that way? Then I look at the things you stand for, or agree with on the right-wing ticket, and I say: Hmm, number one was something Bush mishandled badly, with almost full republican support, and then drug us onto Iraq qhich had nothing to do with with 9/11 or terrorism, so I think, Huh.

Number two, are you kidding me? You must be one of the richest men in the world to have benefitted from his so-called economic policies!

Number three I can respect.

Number four, you obviously have no idea what the bill for embryonic stem cell research was for; either that, or you like the idea of frozen embryoes so much, the fact that they'll never be used and flushed later when prospective parents realize they don't need all the eggs they've frozen you think is a gerat idea! But, again, whatever.

And what's the beef with the "Fairness Doctrine"? Afraid of hearing both sides of a story cause you might learn something? This whole "silencing conservative opinion" is a bunch of hooey, and you know it. You guys just couldn't compete with reason and logic, so you cried foul, and got rid of it.... Bunch of panises.

And as for number six? That ain't because of the moron in the white house--that's due to the diligence and hardwork of our intelligence agencies and our soldiers. Bush is nothing more than a poster-boy rubber-stamper for anythign Dick Cheney tells him to do. Look at Bush's political history: He didn't want a Homeland Security Department, but Congress forced it on him, then he said it was "his idea." He didn't want to implement the changes brought up under the 9/11 Commission, but Congress pushed it on him, then he made it "his idea." All kinds of things Bush wanted, he didn't get because true conservatives (i.e., not fundamentlist morons of the right-wing) made him. Gotta love checks and balances.

Then you scream "Wolf!" about the dem's... Bush should be investigated. Hello! No WMD's, no Osama capture, record deficits, billions missing in Defense budgets in both Afghanistan and Iraq, soldiers dying by the thousands! for--what again? Why did we invade Iraq? Let me think, let me think... Oh, yeah, "giant mushroom clouds" as Condi said... Give me a break. Then you said

3. Cut and run So not wanting to bog us down forever in a never-ending war like Vietnam when we should be fighting the ideology of muslim terrorists is "cut and run"? You need better logic than that! No one is advocating cut and run ecept for some local left-wing nuts. Everyone else is trying to find a new srategy (well, everyone but Shrubya...)

4. Raise taxes you mean repealing Bush's supposed "tax cuts"? I for one could give two shits. Will it get our country back out of debt? Will it go to programs to help those in need? Will it help with health care and education which you've already admitted is a failure of Shrubya? Then raise them! (even though repealing isn't raising; it's taking them back to pre-war levels...)

5. Pass the Fairness Doctrine We've covered this. Learn something.

6. Block appointment of conservative judges I can respect this one (mildly...)

7. Surrender in the war on terror Yeah, that's right. Democrats will whole-heartedly invite with gold-engraved invitations osama to the white house and hand him the keys. Nice scare tactic--try giving America soem credit.

8. Surrender on the illegal immigration issue What's to surrender? Trying to find a fair way to deal with the millions of illegals in our borders isn't "surrendering" anything. Good lord, what a black-and-white world you live in! Must be from reading to much L'Amour...

9. Raise gas prices through increased taxes on oil companies Try "will find renewable energy resources to make us less dependent, thus more leverage to affect, middle east politics." Do something productive, buy a hybrid. Quit bitching about gas and living in fear of "high gas prices"! The only way to get anything done in the middle east is to stop relying on them to run our country... And in case you haven't noticed, gas prices have been sky high under Bush, not democrats... Hmm, how does that factor into your "if dems get in office" scenario?

10. Prosecute innocent soldiers on bogus war crimes charges You obviously have no clue about how the military code of justice works. It's nonpartisan. Soldiers will be prosecuted if they broke the law, which will be investigated thoroughly. I should know. I was an MP, I know how it works. Innocent soldiers aren't prosecuted, but breaking the laws of this country? That should and will be punished no matter who's in office...

Can I go back to laughing at Rush now? Or do you need me to pull apart more of your illogic?

Jason, when I read your comments, and the comments of like-minded liberals, I truly and sincerely wonder how an obviously intelligent human being like yourself can be so divorced from reality. Reagan was right in 1964 when he said that liberals were intelligent people who passionately believed in things that just weren't so. I'll take your points one by one.
1. You say that Iraq had nothing to do with terrorism. Wrong. Iraq was a training ground for Islamofascist terrorists. Sadaam had WMD and was laying the groundwork to working with more terrorist organizations, in order to facilitate terrorist attacks against America. By going to war against Iraq, we have drawn the forces of Islamofascism from across the Middle East to Iraq where we can fight them away from U.S. soil.We have also deposed a murderous dictator who had publically declared his intentions to inflict death and destruction against America. We have given the Iraqi people a chance at freedom. Incidentally, Bush didn't "drag" America into war. The House and the Senate Intelligence Committees had access to the intelligence on WMD, and the White House had access to the reports from the Clinton administration on WMD in Iraq, and all were agreed that attacking Iraq was the right thing to do. Don't try to re-write history.
2. You still believe all that "tax cuts for the rich" baloney, don't you. Here are the facts:
----Almost 7 million new jobs have been created since August 2003. That's more than all of the world's other industrialized countries combined. Our economy has added jobs for 37 consecutive months.
----Over the first half of 2006, our economy grew at a strong 4.1% annual rate. Over that same period, employee compensation per hour grew at a 6.3% annual rate adjusted for inflation.
----Real after-tax income per person has risen by 9% since Jan. 2001.
----Gas prices have fallen 74 cents since August.
----Employment increased in 48 states from Aug. 2005--Aug. 2006.
----The number of black-owned businesses has risen nearly 50% since 2002.
I could go on and on, but clear-thinking people not blinded by ideology will see the point. The Bush tax cuts have worked magnificently!
3. I'm shocked that you believe in conservative justices. I have read your blog, and your views on gay marriage, and I must say that the only way gay marriage will ever become the law of the land is if liberal activist judges impose it via judicial fiat. Whatever, I'll take you at your word.
4. Wrong again, Jason. I do know what the enbryonic stem cell research bill said. It would open the door for embryos to be cultivated and harvested for the stem cells. That's immoral. It is also bad policy, seeing as how there has never been one single medical breakthrough in the field of embryonic stem cell research. Federal funding would be the same as money down the toilet.
5. There is nothing "fair" about the "Fairness Doctrine". The doctrine states that if a radio station airs 3 hours of Limbaugh or Hannity, they must balance that with 3 hours of liberal talk. If the station can't sell any advertising space for that liberal programming, they must air the liberal programmimg at their own expense and take the loss. The result? Radio stations just choose to air nothing at all. That's the way it works in the real world, and liberals know it. The Fairness Doctrine is nothing more than a pathetic attempt to suppress conservative dialog. I have a novel idea--why not let the market decide what is played on privately owned radio stations? Or would that be way too democratic for your liberal sensibilities?
6. Wrong again, Jason. Bush took office and eliminated the "wall of separation" between the FBI and the CIA (another bright idea from the Clinton regime) so that they could share information again. He raised the pay of the military. He leads the military with pride and confidence, and the brave men and women (all of them volunteers) of the U.S. Armed Forces respond with absolute loyalty.
Yes Jason, you can go back to making fun of Rush. Perhaps you will have more success with that than you had in trying to debate with a conservative armed with the truth.
