Yesterday, Nancy Pelosi told the House Science and Technology Committee that the U.S. has to cut its greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2050, and that mandatory restrictions were the only way to do it. Verrrrry Interesting! But Stupid!! (older readers will recognize the Laugh In reference). So, if I understand Mistress Pelosi correctly, she believes that the earth is in such imminent danger from man-made global warming that Congress should take whatever draconian measures are necessary to eliminate all those greenhouse gasses we evil Americans are producing.
You know what? I agree with her! Are you surprised to hear that? Hey, when you're right, you're right, and I say that Mistress Pelosi is spot-on with her analysis. The only thing she said that I disagreed with was that we should have global warming legislation passed by July 4. Why wait? I have an idea that can be accomplished immediately that will hold down our greenhouse gas production. Please allow me to humbly make that proposal now.
I propose that Congress tell Mistress Pelosi to stuff her request for the 43-passenger jumbo jet with the 16-person crew that she has told the Pentagon that she just absolutely must have. Can you imagine how much global warming-causing greenhouse gasses a big old jet like that would produce? I shudder to think! Why, I'll bet that just one cross-country flight for the "Pelosi Posse" in that jet would cause an entire Arctic glacier to melt! Oh, the humanity! If just one pinniped (seals and walruses) became the least bit uncomfortable due to the emissions of the Pelosi Express, I just don't think I could bear the strain!
Oh, and by the way, there is one other teensy-weensy little reason to shelve the request for the jumbo jet. It would cost $300,000 per flight for Mistress Pelosi to use the jet she has requested! That's taxpayer money!!! Good grief, do these people have no shame? Maybe one other greenhouse gas-limiting suggestion is appropriate here. If liberal Democrats would just shut their traps, greenhouse gas emissions would be reduced by at least 25%!

Except one little flaw with your argument. She didn't request the jumbo jet! Even Tnoy Snow debunked that little conservative attempt at a liberal smear. You certainly do play dirty Hondo!

SNOW: I’ll just repeat our position, which is, as Speaker of the House, she is entitled to military transport, and that the arrangements, the proper arrangements are being made between the Sergeant of Arms office in the House of Representatives and the U.S. Department of Defense. We think it’s appropriate, and so, again, I think this is much ado about not a whole lot. It is important for the Speaker to have this kind of protection and travel. It was certainly appropriate for Speaker Hastert. So we trust that all sides will get this worked out.

Anyone who says that Pelosi didn't request the jumbo jet (and that includes Tony Snow) is either uninformed or lying. She absolutely did request the jet.
Anyone who suggests that her request is "appropriate" (and that includes Tony Snow) is flat-out wrong. The Bush administration should be ashamed of themselves for not boldly criticizing Pelosi.
Now come on Hondo. Do you know for sure that she requested the jet? Or do you just want to beleive that because she is a liberal?
I know for sure that she requested the jet because she has been all over the news squaking about how she's being discriminated against if she doesn't get the jet. I know because John murtha has been all over the news talking about how Defense Dept. appropriations will be slashed if Mistress Pelosi's request for a jet is denied. Come on, liberal reader! Don't pull that kind of dishonesty with me!
