congress prepares to battle over global warming

This is a link to a very interesting article concerning the upcoming Congressional debate over global warming. I have repeatedly said that the GOP has more than a few liberals among them--RINO's--who would joyfully join ranks with their fellow liberals on the Democrat side of the aisle on any number of issues. Global warming is but one example. Sen. John Warner (R-Virginia) is the classic illustration of the danger posed to the GOP, and America for that matter, by the RINO's.
With regard to the global warming issue, the liberal strategy is quite simple. First, pretend that the scientific community is unified on the cause/effects of global warming. This would be a lie (the scientific community is split 50-50) but never let the truth get in the way of a good liberal lie! Next, when the 50% that doesn't agree with the liberal lie protests, call them names. Demonize them. Yell and scream and holler that this 50% is dishonest, and insane, and corrupt, and so on. This would seem to require the liberals to admit that the scientific community is not in fact unified, but liberals just don't seem to be able to make that connection. Third, the liberal global warming devotees know in their hearts that Kyoto will never make it through the Senate on a straight, honest vote, so they go to Plan B. Take the substance of the Kyoto Treaty and break it up into pieces, which are then passed surreptitiously one by one. The liberal contingent justifies their actions by telling themselves that they are saving the world. Let me highlight a couple of paragraphs from the article in the above link:

It has become an article of faith among liberal Democrats that global warming-induced climate change is real and the greatest threat to life as we know it. Like Al Gore, liberals are so convinced they are right that they seem to earnestly believe that anyone who dares to disagree with the science is either a little nuts or in the pay of giant corporations willing to destroy the earth itself to make one last buck. Given the seriousness of the situation as they perceive it, liberals are prepared to do just about anything they can to silence anyone standing in their way. This was compellingly demonstrated just before the election when Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) threatened investigations and government action against corporations that express doubts about the accuracy of this liberal wisdom or contribute to researchers or think tanks that do not tow the “global warming” liberal line.
As far as the liberal community is concerned, the discussion is over; every sane human being is with them and it’s time to sweep away the skeptics so we can get on with the task of saving ourselves and the earth. Waxman and his colleagues don’t really think free speech guarantees should extend to people who are too obstinate to agree with them when they are so obviously right.
You are either with them or you are evil.

Well, there you have it, fellow conservatives! You didn't think this was going to be easy, did you? It is absolutely imperative that all of us who call ourselves Christian conservatives educate ourselves on the issues, and strive to educate others.
