pathological liberal hatred of truth

Concerning the pathological hatred expressed by the left towards Jerry Falwell in the wake of his passing:
It’s not Rev. Falwell they hate so much as the truth he delivered. And as much as they hate that truth, they hate the Author of that truth. Scripture tells us that God’s natural law – His objective truth – is written on the heart of every man, woman and child. Our innate understanding of that absolute truth – whether we acknowledge it or not – coupled with our accountability to a sovereign but loving Creator, becomes like a virus to those who deny it. That denial of reality in turn manifests itself in a visceral hatred of those other equally broken and fallen souls who, by contrast, do acknowledge His truth.---Matt Barber, Policy Director For Cultural Issues at Concerned Women For America
This quote came from the article I linked to above, and Mr. Barber is spot on in his analysis of why those who belong to the left become so uncontrollably berserk when confronted with truth. I have experienced this myself through this blog. I can always pinpoint the exact moment when I have won a debate with a liberal. It is the moment that they stop talking about the subject at hand and, instead, begin to frenziedly question my ancestry. That's what happens when you confront a liberaliar with the truth. As Jack Nicholson said to Tom Cruise in A Few Good Men, "You can't handle the truth!" He could have been speaking to the modern devotees of liberaliarism!
Here's the fact: Each and every one of us is born with a soul. That's what is meant when the Bible says that man was created in the image of God. Within that soul lies the ability to discern right from wrong, truth from fiction, good from evil. We all have that ability, yet we all have the nasty habit of willfully failing to use that God-given ability from time to time. That's what sin is all about. Liberalism is a cancer of the soul that causes a person to completely and utterly refuse to ever use that ability.
The by-product of this cancerous condition is hate. How could it be otherwise? Truth is all around us, and it takes effort to deny it. If you happen to be a denier of the truth, and you are committed to being that way, it would have to be extremely stressful to continue that way. Imagine how much you would hate it every time you were confronted with truth. Anger and turmoil would bubble up inside you and you would have to really gear yourself up to remove that truth from your presence in order to peacefully continue to believe in your own pseudo-reality. You wouldn't be able to logically argue against the truth, because facts, logic and reason are all partners of truth. You would be left with only one option--hate the truth enough to make it go away.
Here's another fact: Hate won't make the truth go away. Truth cannot be destroyed. That's why those of us who call ourselves principled Christian conservatives can't get too bent when we see temporary victories achieved by liberaliars. I'm just as guilty of that as anyone else, but we all must just continue to seek and speak truth with the knowledge that truth will win out. In the words of that great philosopher Rocky Balboa, "You take the hits and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done."(see http://christianconservatives.blogspot.com/search?q=rocky+balboa for more on that nugget of wisdom). Who knew that Rocky was so wise?

Comment moderation tends to stifle your blog. It's been years since I listened to the old time Gospel hour. I am going to miss Dr. Falwell.

You're right. I don't like comment moderation at all--not even a little bit. For the first 8 months or so that I did this blog, I didn't use comment moderation. Unfortunately, liberals tend to fight against opposing viewpoints with comments containing gross profanity and sexual content/perversion. You wouldn't believe how many comments from liberals that I received which contained graphic references to bestiality! That's just the way liberals are, and it forced me to institute comment moderation.
