the wisdom of newt

www.conservative.org/pressroom/2007/070226ng.htm

Gingrich really nails it here. 2008 will be a real watershed moment for the GOP. Will the Republican Party get back to basics? Will they repudiate the bland liberalism they became infected with and return to the rock-solid principles of Reagan conservatism? Will they proudly proclaim the message of principled conservatism as a positive change of direction for our government? Or will they stick with the losing strategy of "We Hate Hillary, But We Love Big Government?" That's what cost the GOP in 2006, and it will cost us in 2008 if we don't pull our heads out of the sand and stand tall for the uniquely American principles that were created by our Founders and that were resurrected by Reagan. Republicans need to look to the examples of Calvin Coolidge, Ronald Reagan and Newt Gingrich to see the very clear blueprint for success. Strong, principled conservatism NEVER LOSES to liberalism! It never has, and it never will. The GOP will win big time in 2008 if they hold fast to that one simple fact. If they don't, 2008 will be a trainwreck of epic proportions, and America will suffer for it.

Today is the first day of CPAC 2007, the 34th Annual Conservative Political Action Conference. Featured speakers will be people like Vice President Dick Cheney, Sean Hannity, Senator Mitch McConnell, Ann Coulter, Tom Delay, Michelle Malkin, David Horowitz, Congressman Mike Pence, Newt Gingrich, Phyllis Schlafly, Wayne LaPierre, and all of the GOP Presidential candidates (with the exception of Sen. John McNuts). This week marks the launching pad for a hoped-for re-energizing of the conservative movement. Will the GOP listen? We shall see.

Here is some more Newt wisdom on the victins of Hurricane Katrina:

"... the failure of citizenship in the Ninth Ward, where 22,000 people were so uneducated and so unprepared, they literally couldn't get out of the way of a hurricane."

What a shining example of a christian conservative!!!

Newt was right. 22,000 people knew a hurricane was coming but made no attempt to get out of the way. What are you going to do about people like that? The Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson has an interesting take on this subject. See
