another top 10 list--the most popular liberal lies
The philosophy of liberalism is a pseudo-religion built entirely upon lies, half-truths and delusion. It has become something of a hobby for me to document the most popular liberal lies. Here's my Top 10 List:
1. The war in Iraq has made America less safe. The truth is that, between 1979 and 2000, there were 25 separate radical Islam attacks against Americans, or against non-Americans on American soil (see http://www.factsofisrael.com/blog/archives/000367.html for a complete list) that killed 800 people. On 9/11, almost 3000 people were killed. Since 9/11---ZERO. No attacks on American soil. No American civilians in non-combat areas dead. ZERO. The numbers don't lie--they are what they are.
2. Bush lied, soldiers died. Wrong! During that time between 9/11 and the invasion of Iraq, the intelligence agencies from France, England, Russia and the United States all agreed that Iraq had WMD and that Saddam was prepared to use them. At the same time, Saddam kicked out all of the weapons inspectors, violated 17 U.N. resolutions, a Congressional resolution, and threatened the United States. The Republican and Democrat leaders in both houses of Congress looked at the intelligence reports from these other countries and the U.S., they looked at Saddam's actions, they listened to Saddam's words, and they all agreed with the President that we just couldn't take a chances that Iraq might attack us. Remember, this was post-9/11. Former President Clinton and former VP Gore, who both had seen the same reports that Pres. Bush had, agreed with Congress and Bush. Saddam had to be eliminated. A bipartisan consensus was reached and Pres. Bush invaded Iraq. Today, the Democrats want to rewrite history and create a make believe fairy tale about the beginnings of the war. They are lying.
3. Abortion is a constitutional right. Wrong! There is absolutely nothing in the Constitution that says that women have the right to an abortion. It isn't even implied. The "right" to murder an unborn baby is a right that has been pulled out of thin air by a liberal activist Supreme Court. That's called public policy rammed down the throats of "we the people" by judicial fiat.
4. Gay marriage is a constitutional right. Wrong again! Liberals sure do see lots of make believe stuff in the Constitution, don't they? Here again, liberals will advance their agenda through the liberal courts.
5. The Constitution mandates separation of church and state. Liberals must have the U.S. Constitution mixed up with the old Soviet constitution. That was the constitution that mandated separation of church and state. The 1st Amendment mandates freedom of religion, not freedom from religion. Go to http://www.loc.gov/exhibits/religion/, the official Library of Congress website, to see an online exhibit called "Religion and the Founding of the American Republic." You will very clearly see that our Founding Fathers had absolutely no intentions of creating a republic where public expression of Christian faith would be banned. Today's liberals have created a huge lie all around this very important issue.
6. Conservatives oppose stem cell research. That is a big whopper! The truth is that conservatives are opposed to federal funding of embryonic stem cell research, and there are two reasons why. First, most conservatives believe that it is immoral, and we don't want our tax dollars used to fund an immoral practice. Second, most conservatives recognize that ESCR has been a 100% total failure, and that increased federal funding would be a waste of money. If private corporations want to use private money to fund ESCR, let them have at it! So far, though, that hasn't happened because corporate America is reluctant to waste money on programs that won't succeed. Conservatives are 100% in favor of pursuing adult stem cell research, and research into using cord blood. We also favor federal funding for those avenues of research.
7. Tax cuts for the rich hurt the poor. This is another whopper. First of all, poor people don't pay taxes, so you can't cut what isn't there. The top 50% of American wage earners pay 97% of all of the taxes. Second, cutting the taxes for these top 50%'ers allows that group to spend more, and it allows businesses to hire more. Money pumps back into the economy, more people have jobs, and the bottom 50%, who only shoulder 3% of the total tax burden, find more money in their pockets. Everybody goes home a winner. Today, in 2006, unemployment is at a historical low, black ownership of businesses and homes is at an all time high, and the federal deficit has been slashed beyond any reasonable prediction.
8. Bush stole the 2000 election. Do you know that there is still a segment of our population that is bitter about that election? They still believe that Bush stole the election. Of course, these are the same people who still believe that Elvis is alive and that Karl Rove is the Antichrist! The truth is that the Gore team cherry picked Democrat districts in Florida for recounts. The Bush team said that we should recount the whole state, but Gore wanted no part of that. There was a recount, and Bush was still the winner. Gore demanded a second recount, and Bush was still the winner. Gore went to a liberal Democrat Florida court and got them to award him more votes and another crack at the votes. Bush appealed to the Supreme Court, and they shut down the Gore criminal enterprise. The U.S. Human Rights Commission investigated, and they found nothing wrong with the results. Bush won, Gore lost, get over it!
9. Republicans are racist. Barack Hussein Obama is the latest delusional liberal to repeat this famous lie (he said it yesterday), and he is just as wrong as every other liberal who has repeated this lie. It was a Republican president who freed the slaves. It was the Republican party that passed the "Civil Rights Amendments" (13, 14, 15) that extended full citizenship rights to blacks. it was the Republican party that got the Civil Rights Act passed during the LBJ administration. The Democrat party strongly opposed all of the above. During Pres. Bush's time in office, more blacks own houses, own businesses, and have jobs than at any time in American history. Those are the facts, and they can't be disputed.
10. Global warming. I have written extensively about the whole global warming hoax. Al Gore has created a great science fiction movie about this malarkey in a feeble attempt to secure the 2008 presidential nomination. It is all a lie! Look at the following links:

Over 17,000 basic and applied American scientists, two-thirds of whom have advanced degrees, signed a petition that said, " We urge the United States government to reject the global warming agreement that was written in Kyoto, Japan in December, 1997, and any other similar proposals. The proposed limits on greenhouse gases would harm the environment, hinder the advance of science and technology, and damage the health and welfare of mankind."
"There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gasses is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth's atmosphere and disruption of the Earth's climate. Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the Earth."
That sounds pretty clear to me!
That"s my list. There are so many other great liberal lies to talk about, but I'll save it for another time.
