problem solving as a christian conservative
We have talked quite extensively about what the Christian conservative believes. Now it's time to take those principles and apply them to real world problems. It is our fervent belief that the problems facing us as individuals and as a nation are impossible to solve unless those problems are tackled from the Christian perspective and the conservative perspective. Illegal immigration is certainly a hot-button issue sparking heated debate. Let's look at that issue from the Christian conservative perspective and see if we can't arrive at some solutions.
Anybody who works in the business world knows that our federal government has birthed literally thousands of rules, regulations, guidelines, and programs that govern how business gets done in the U.S.A. Meet Bill. He owns a small retail business in El Paso. He has the federal government telling him how much he has to pay his employees, how much he has to pay for benefits, what he has to do to make sure nobody gets hurt on the job, who he can hire and who he can't hire, and what kinds of programs he has to pay for that make sure all of the above is done properly. All of that costs money, and the federal government didn't ask him if he could afford to pay for all of this. They just said he'll be shut down if he doesn't comply. Bill comes to the conclusion that he can't possibly afford to obey all of those regulations and still stay in business. Christian Conservative Question #1--Where in the Constitution is it written that the federal government has the right to do any of this? C.C.Q. #2--What part of the 10th Amendment does our federal government not understand? Read it for yourself to refresh your memory about the concept of federalism.
Meet Julio. He is a young Mexican man with a wife, 5 children, and no job. He decides to illegally cross the U.S. border in search of work so that he can support his family. He has heard that he will be able to find work north of the border and simply wire the money back down to his family. He is desparate for work and isn't particularly concerned with such mundane issues as minimum wage, OSHA regulations, or workplace discrimination. Julio just wants to work.
Bill and Julio are a match made in heaven. Of course Bill is going to hire Julio. He knows that the federal government is doing everything in its power not to catch illegals, or the people who hire them, so he feels pretty safe in breaking the law. In fact, he has heard our Coyote-In-Chief (a "coyote" is someone who smuggles illegals across the border), El Presidente Jorge Bush, say more than once that Americans are simply too lazy to work, so he feels downright smug in breaking the law. Besides, Julio is a good guy. He's not really hurting anything.
Of course Bill, along with our U.S. Senate and our President, is overlooking the fact that most illegals are not as nice as Julio. 25% of all prisoners incarcerated in our correctional facilities are illegals. Nationwide, nearly half of all outstanding violent crime warrants are for illegals who we can't find. Additionally, although illegals don't pay any taxes, and all of the money they earn is wired to another country, they still are allowed to partake of all of our social, medical and educational offerings---free of charge to them. How about some more Christian Conservative Questions?
C.C.Q. #3-- What do we gain as a society by allowing our federal government to flagrantly break federal law? What happened to the conservative notion of the rule of law?
C.C.Q. #4--What is at all Christian about allowing anyone to come into our country and steal the rights and privileges of citizenship?
Let's wrap this discussion up. The Christian Conservative solution to the problem of illegal immigration goes like this:
1. Send the U.S. military down to the border and seal the border today.
2. Immediately deport all illegals currently incarcerated anywhere in the U.S. They won't get back in if the border is sealed.
3. Immediately outlaw all wire transfers of money from the U.S. to Mexico by non-citizens.
4. Pass legislation mandating a $1 million fine for any business that employs illegals.
5. Eliminate all workplace regulation that doesn't conform to the Constitution. Allow the free market to work.
6. Every Christian church in the nation should immediately send missionary and relief teams to minister to our Mexican brothers and sisters who are in need. We must give generously of our time, our talents, and our treasures to help anyone in need.

Sincerely,
The Christian Conservatives
