history will judge us

These are critical times for us, folks. A large segment of a major religion has declared war on America. Most of the world, outside of America, has decided to ignore the warning signs very clearly communicated to us by the Islamofascists. Many here at home want to take the same head-in-the-sand approach.

Domestically, our culture continues to sink lower and lower into the sewer. Most American children grow up in a home without both parents, and we are seeing the results with suicide, depression, pregnancy, STD's, drug and alcohol dependency and the like all continuing to be major problems for millions of kids nationwide.

A powerful minority within this country has declared war against the traditional values and principles that America was founded on. They have vowed not to give up the fight until they have transformed America into a socialist, secular progressive society in which "we the people" are wholly dependant upon Mommy and Daddy Government for our daily bread, and in which the government will assume control of raising our children.

Are we, as Christian conservatives, just going to sit back and let that happen? Read what Jesus has to say about our responsibilities as Christians, from Matthew 5:13-16;

"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.
"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

Pray! Pray without ceasing that hearts would be changed and that we would be blessed with wisdom as a nation so that God's will could be done through us. Pray that, as a nation, we would confess our sins, repent, and seek God's favor once again. Pray that God would make the United States of America truly "one nation under God" so that we would be unified in our quest to make the world safe and peaceful for democracy. Pray that each and every one of us would be used by God as salt of the earth, and a light of the world, so that the world would see our good works, and glorify our Father in heaven.

Our children, and their children and grandchildren, will look back and judge those of us who are in the here and now. We have a tremendous responsibility to do everything within our power, with God's blessings, to "preserve the blessings of liberty for ourselves and our posterity." Will we show the strength and fortitude of our ancestors and, with God's help accept this responsibility, or will we lay down and let our way of life die? I pray that we will seek God!
