would someone please help me understand?

Pequannock, New Jersey schools will begin conducting random alcohol tests on all students next week. School Superintendent Larrie Reynolds said, "There are more kids that die each year in alcohol-related traffic deaths than there are soldiers who have died in Iraq." Predictably, liberal organizations such as the ACLU are ramping up for The Great War of Litigation that they feel is necessary to "defend the Constitution." As always, my wooden conservative head is struggling to understand. Questions:

1. If more kids die each year from alcohol-related accidents than there are soldiers who have died in Iraq, why are liberals trying to end the war to save troops, yet also trying to squash testing that would help save kids?
2. If more kids die each year from alcohol-related accidents than die each year from gun-related accidents (it's true), why are liberals trying to un-Constitutionally terminate the 2nd Amendment to save small numbers of kids, yet are also trying to squash testing that would save large numbers of kids "in defense of the Constitution?"
3. How can liberals get up in the morning, look themselves in the mirror, and function adequately during the day when their thought processes are so obviously dysfunctional?
