the gop battle plan--where do we go from here?

What happens now? What will it take to regain the trust and support of the conservative base, and, in turn, to regain majority status of the House and Senate? What will it take for the GOP to not blow the 2008 Presidential election like they did the 2006 election?
The first step is real simple---select Mike Pence of Indiana as House Minority Leader and Mitch McConnell of Kentucky as the Senate Minority Leader. Both men are principled conservatives who earned a perfect score of 100 from the American Conservative Union. Both men have strong backbones, making them less susceptible to the corrupting influences of Beltway Liberalism. Both men are willing and able to do whatever it takes to drag their respective chambers back to the right. Here are a couple of links to view; the first is the letter Pence sent to his collegues in the House announcing his intention to seek the top position, and the second is Sen. McConnell's website.

This step is essential. Change will not happen in the Congress unless the leadership changes. RINO's have led the GOP off the cliff, and it will be worse in 2008 unless we get Reagan conservatives back in the Big-Boy Chairs. Poll after poll shows that most Americans are conservative. Why do so many Republicans act like conservatism is another word for leprosy? True conservatives know that we have nothing to fear from being open and honest about our beliefs. We have the truth on our side, and the truth will set us free.
We'll talk more about the battle plan later.
